L'Alios - registered design & Trademark

Alios takes its name from the mineral-rich alios layers found in the Arcachon Basin.
Developed in collaboration with Robert Beillonnet, two-time Meilleur Ouvrier de France, this elegant folding knife features a rounded tip inspired by the traditional blades used by fishermen at sea.

What truly sets Alios apart is its ingenious rear rocker lock mechanism — a rare and intuitive system that combines safety, precision, and mechanical elegance.

Discover how the locking system works here.

Each knife is presented in a custom-designed cardboard box, complete with a calf leather sheath and a certificate of authenticity

Fabrics

Handle

Each Alios knife is available in a selection of nine noble woods, carefully chosen for their beauty, character, and durability:

Juniper, Ebony, Morta (fossilized oak), Douelle (oak from wine barrels), Wenge, Olivewood, Birch, Pistachio, and a Juniper model with ebony bolster.

These natural materials are shaped and finished by hand to highlight their unique patterns and tactile warmth. Over time, the handle will develop a rich, natural patina, making every Alios knife truly one of a kind.

Blade Options

Choose from five exceptional steels, each offering a unique combination of performance, aesthetics, and tradition:

  • 12C27 Sandvik Stainless Steel
A premium stainless steel, rich in chromium and carbon, known for its excellent cutting edge, corrosion resistance, and easy maintenance.

  • XC75 Carbon Steel
The classic steel of past generations. Easy to sharpen and offering a traditional look and feel, it will naturally develop a patina but requires careful drying after each use to avoid oxidation.

  • RWL34 Stainless Steel
An ultra-pure, high-performance steel produced through powder metallurgy. Durable, resilient, and corrosion-resistant, with outstanding edge retention.

  • VG10 / Suminagashi Damascus
A VG10 core encased in 33 layers of Damascus steel on each side. Beautifully layered and extremely sharp, this steel offers an ideal balance of strength and finesse.

  • 160-Layer Stainless Damascus
A blend of RWL34 (bright layers) and PMC27 (dark layers), forge-welded at 1220°C, then hammered, folded, and stretched multiple times.
This artisanal steel is among the finest in the world — a true masterpiece of modern metallurgy.

Maintenance

To preserve the beauty and performance of your Alios knife:

  • Wash the blade only with warm, soapy water using the soft side of a sponge.

  • Dry the knife carefully with a soft cloth.

  • Avoid soaking the knife and never use abrasive cleaners.

For wooden handles, occasionally apply a drop of colorless vegetable or mineral oil (never olive oil) to keep the wood nourished and protected.

Not dishwasher safe.
